Traffic Light

May 31st, 2009

After getting my button and walk/dont walk sign I had to hook them up! But controllers are about $100 for what I wanted, what other options did I have? I could make one! And I did, with the help of Trevor and one of his class projects we constructed a traffic light controller. I will post more info and schematics up later, but for now some pics!

New Sign!

May 22nd, 2009

I got my pedestrian walk/’ walk sign in yesterday. I briefly hooked it up just to see it’s glory.

I plan on getting a pole and mounting my traffic light, the button, and this sign on it. I would also like to get 2 street signs made that say Rocky Rd, and Duncan Dr.

New Button

May 18th, 2009

So I aquired a button recently, but not just any button. In fact it is a button for the pedestrians at a traffic light. The button was broken and had been replaced, this one was too damaged for TxDOT to fix. I just put a little hot glue on there along with a new microswitch that I had laying around. Anyway pics:

USB Missile Launcher

May 12th, 2009

So I bought me a USB Missile Launcher off of www.woot.com , but just buying it wasnt enough for me. I wanted to take it further, and I did. First I put a woot monkey on the launcher so that it would like he was shooting them. Next I put some woot off lights by the launcher to warn people. And after a little work I was able to use my USB Panic Button (from woot as well) to launch the missiles from the launcher.

Software:
Autohotkey

Pretty Simple!

Pics will be up later.

I Love Lamp!

May 10th, 2009

Here’s one that I’m sure Trevor will like.

Rocky found me a lamp at a garage sale for $3. A lamp for $3 is a pretty good, but THIS lamp for $3 is a great deal.
